What is this unusual painting I see?
Is it a zebra, a lemon, or perhaps a bee?
It has squiggles, and lines, and polka dots all around.
Some blue, some red, and even smudges of brown.
Apparently, this is called "abstract art"
But to me, it looks like this artist needs to restart.
Now maybe one day, I'll understand,
But right now, the meaning of "art" is getting out of hand.
Now maybe one day, when I'm more mature, this painting shall be crystal clear.
Till then, my friend, this is just a very badly painted deer.

Monday- The day all kids go into depression.
Tuesday- The day we wish were Friday, and start getting aggressive.
Wednesday- The day that just seems to zoom by....
Thursday- The day the countdown begins.
Friday- The day we escape school (also known as a deadly sin).
Saturday- We don't have any work, so in our beds we lay.
Sunday- Eh, I think I'll sleep in for just one more day.

Can you recall that time of year in 2019,
Where we would all party and cheer?
Do you remember that time of day, when we would celebrate Christmas the traditional way?
My favorite time was when the last school bell would ring.
I remember quite well all the praises we would sing.
Do you recall the 1st of December,
When people would flood the shopping centers.
I look back at all those memories,
before the pandemic struck.
Remember the gifts that we would beg,
the ones that cost an arm and leg?
Yes, us children would ask for gifts in such a clever way.
But now, all we simply ask for is to end these miserable Covid days.
It's okay, 2020 is not all that bad,
Let me spend it with my family, and I'll be glad.
So.... let's all say hip-hip hooray!
Oh yeah, and happy holidays.

I am a cat.
I wonder when I will get food.
I hear my owners talking and laughing.
I want that ball of yarn up on the shelf.
I am a cat.
I pretend that I am human.
I feel a hairball in my throat.
I touch the door and scratch it.
I worry I will be sent away.
I cry when my owners don't let me get the yarn.
I am a cat.
I understand when I've pushed the limit.
I say nothing, since I am a cat.
I dream about catching mice.
I try to be the best pet ever.
I hope my owners don't get a dog.
I am a cat.

Look at that beautiful object!
Mom says it looks like a failed science project.
But, why, no! It's such a beautiful sight!
My mom only says that 'cause it gives her quite a fright!
Now, you might be wondering, what object is so sublime.
Why, you can find it in Michaels, in aisle 5, for only a dollar, 39.
All you need is Elmer's glue and activator.
Although most adults seem to be quite the haters.
When you touch it, you will feel like your in ooey, gooey heaven.
Most children start to play with it by the time they turn seven.
For me, what I like to do is add a lot of bling.
My slime, well, it's my everything.

There are many types of music that I dance to non-stop.
And a lot of them start playing in places like thrift shops.
But my absolute favorite is the one called hip-hop.
Why, I always dance to it until I finally drop!
So, in conclusion.....
I really like hip-hop, and I dance to it a lot!
(But if your wearing flip-flops, then you might wanna stop!)

Police, Firefighters, Delivery Guys,
I think everyone should be recognized!
While we are all inside, safe and sound, they are outside, standing their ground.
Doctors and bankers.
In all of them we will find our answers.
Because of them we will continue to thrive,
throughout this terrible time in our life.
I think they are so very brave,
I can't even count how many people they've saved!
They have helped so many people survive,
Thanks to them, most of us are well and alive.
The reason I am writing this is to say they should be praised.
You will be amazed of how many times they've come to our aid.

I have a little rooster,
And it really needs a booster!
It whines and cries,
And doesn't really like mimes.
And there you have it, the not-so-perfect pet.
But it is the kind that everyone gets!
Right?

One is red,
Two are green.
Some of them are on the tree.
Three are yellow,
Four are brown.
Some of them have hit the ground.
Six are here,
Seven are there.
But why should we even care?
Eight are on the roof,
I've even named one Goof!
Nine are hers,
Ten are mine.
Time for school,
Now rise and shine!

Finally, it's almost here!
It's the hottest season of the year!
When pools are open,
Schools are closed!
Time to bring out the old hose!
Goodbye, homework,
Hello, games.
No more studying, that's just lame.
Swimming gear, ice cream cones,
Make sure there are no broken bones!
Slumber parties, medals to win,
Let the fun and games begin!
-Ishanvi Jaiswal
Finally, it's here!
My favorite time of year!
When flowers grow,
And it's not so cold.
The perfect time of year!
The strong breeze hits your hair,
And the beautiful smell in the air,
Yes, it's that time of year,
When animals come back from migration,
Us humans come back from winter vacation.
Get ready for the best time of year!
Spring is here! Spring is here!
The perfect time of year!

I have a little frog,
And it's name is Bog.
He likes to swim,
And always wants to win,
And there you have it, the perfect frog.
And just so you know, he loves the word log.

*Gasp*, *Pant*, I am really late for school!
But something about today makes me feel like a big fool!
"Don't forget your lunch!"
"Gee, thanks a bunch!"
Run! Run! Run!
School has already begun!
But when I get there, I am all alone,
Then, I finally look at my phone.
I sigh a sigh of relief
And make my way back home.
The email said: No school, not until mid May!

I have a little pool,
And it is very cool!
And when I thought I'd drown,
I was saved by a clown!

I am a little froggy,
Who is lost without my mommy.
I am a little saddy,
Without my big daddy.
-Ishanvi Jaiswal
There is this girl named Benglish,
And she needs to work on her English.
Because when she wants to say "pool",
She ends up saying "cool".
And when she wants to say "bug",
She somehow ends up saying "rug"!

Today, I wanted to go buy a car,
So I talked to a guy named Lamar.
Turns out, he was no help,
All he talked about was kelp!
So, I went someplace else.
I talked to a guy named Gelse.
I told him I wanted a car,
So he shrugged and said,"okay!"
Then he took me to a shop.
When he showed me the car, I told him it was a flop,
Because, he bought me a toy car!
